Something happened to dance music.
It got very… serious.
Big money deals. Crowds of pouting posers dressed in black. Genre wars in the comment section. A media industry that feels more like a paid-for press release than a culture worth celebrating. Everything’s “legendary,” everyone’s “smashing it,” and yet… it’s all just noise.
To us, it feels stale. It needs a kick up the arse.
But here’s the thing—the magic hasn’t disappeared. It’s just not being given the spotlight. The unique characters, the sounds you haven’t heard before, the spaces where madness unfolds—they’re still here. They’re just being drowned out by algorithms of sameness, edits of edits, and industry politics.
Meanwhile, clubs are closing, small scenes are struggling, and the people who actually make the music, throw the parties, and build the communities? They’re finding it harder than ever to make a living.
That’s where Dance Village comes in.
We’re here to do things differently.
We believe:
Dance music should be fun.
This is the entertainment industry. Shouldn’t we be entertained? We didn’t sign up for a life of seriousness and politics inside electronic music. For us, it’s about fun, escape, independence, and doing something new. Let’s bring that energy back.
The media is broken.
Too much of the press is driven by ad money, and it shows. We’re not here to be a promo mouthpiece. If we publish something, it’s because it’s actually worth talking about. No fluff. No bought coverage. Just real stories from the culture you love.
Community is everything.
The dance floor was never just about music—it was about people. A place to belong. The scene is moving towards bigger festival-style events, while everything else has moved online. People are more connected than ever, yet feeling more alone than ever. We want to build real communities—friends, collectives, networks—where people actually connect. Life is about the people you spend it with. Let’s make it better.
The 99% deserve a shot.
A handful of DJs and promoters are thriving. The rest? They’re grinding, hoping for a break in an industry that’s stacked against them. We want to shift the odds, create opportunities, and make it easier to build something sustainable in dance music—for the many, not just the few.
This isn’t about nostalgia for how things used to be. It’s about having the good times now, not taking ourselves too seriously, and creating a future worth getting excited about.
Sounds like a laugh. I’m in—are you?
